Tire pressure fault warning light (TPMS)

Drive with caution

What this light means

This light comes on when the ignition is switched on and normally turns off within a few seconds if the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is working. If it comes back on or flashes, the message "Please check TPMS" appears and the instrument cluster shows tire pressure as unavailable, meaning the TPMS itself has a fault (this is different from a simple low-pressure alert).

Immediate actions

  1. 1Check the instrument cluster message: rapid flashing plus a red tire-pressure value means rapid leakage; solid on plus a yellow value means under-inflation or high tire temperature.
  2. 2Stop and check tires visually and with a gauge if a rapid leak is indicated.
  3. 3Contact a BYD authorized dealer or service provider if the fault persists or the display shows No Signal.

What to check

Read the exact on-screen message and color-coded tire values
Check tire condition and pressure with a gauge against the door-placard values (250 kPa front / 270 kPa rear)
Contact an authorized BYD dealer or service provider if the fault does not clear

Possible causes

  • Official handbook source: TPMS signal disturbance at a wheel location, or a faulty tire-pressure monitoring module.
  • A genuinely under-inflated, over-pressured or overheating tire, shown by color-coded values on the instrument cluster.
