ABS fault warning light
Drive with cautionSafety warning — do not ignore this light
This warning light indicates a potentially serious fault. Do not continue driving. Stop in a safe location and contact an authorized service center or roadside assistance. Never attempt to inspect high-voltage or safety-critical components yourself.
What this light means
This light comes on when the ignition is switched on and normally goes out within a few seconds if the anti-lock braking system (ABS) is working correctly. If it stays on or comes back on, the ABS has a fault: normal braking still works, but the anti-lock function does not.
Immediate actions
- 1Continue driving to a safe location with extra following distance and gentle braking.
- 2Avoid hard braking on wet, icy or loose surfaces since ABS may not intervene.
- 3Contact a BYD authorized dealer or service provider for inspection as soon as possible.
What to check
Note whether the brake-system warning light is also on
Avoid hard or emergency braking where possible until checked
Book an inspection with an authorized BYD dealer or service provider
Possible causes
- ›Official handbook source: a component monitored by the ABS warning-light system has developed a fault.
- ›The handbook does not publish the exact internal fault code or root cause; that requires BYD diagnostic equipment.
